A fan here!
My background is in judo, that's how I've become interested in MMA. I'm still only a spectator though.
I have huge respect for the pro fighters. It's a tough sport, no doubt. Just like squash is! :)
Who do you root for Estephan? Any favourites?

Another fan here.

I only did Taekwondo for 2 years but still like the sport. Gegard Mousasi is my favorite fighter!

Hi Spike, I used to run two judo clubs in Lincoln and Norwich. My time was with the likes of Brian Jacks, Angelo Parisi, Dave Starbrook, Keith Remfry and so on, way back in the 70/80's and I have all the broken bones to show for it. I took up squash as it is about the same size of a tatami and the opponent is not on the other side of the net! Favourite throw was left Okouriashibarai and put Jacks down with it at his own club, The Budokwai. Only problem was that he then got up .... Liam

Ian 'The Machine' Freeman is a mate, would not like to cross him, and he rides horses.

I think BJ Penn is very tidy but Anderson Silva probably best pound for pound.

Watch out for our British guy Dan Hardy though, looks really good.

Hardy is an excellent fighter and one of my favorites but i think he's in over his head with his next fight against GSP who's on everybody's pound-4-pound greatest fighter list.

Favorite fighters include: CroCop, Fedor, BJ Penn, Jon Jones, Karo, Diaz Bros, A. Silva, Clay Guida, Hardy, Diego just to name a few.

Favourite style: striking and Judo

Hardy vs GSP?

Anybody thinking Hardy has a chance?

I'm English myself, although not living in the UK, and would love to see him win but I just don't see it happening. Its either going to be a good shot like Serra or nothing. I truly hope I'm proved wrong. I will put a few dollars down on Hardy though... imagine that if he shocks the world!! Oy! OY! he says!

Its on tonight!

I predict:

GSP by TKO second round.

Carwin by knockout.

Diaz by decision.

I think GSP will make hardy work hard to survive the first round and when the exhaustion kicks in, it's all GSP.
About the other fight, I'm very interested to see how far Carwin's KO power can take him.
Is Mir too skilled? Can Carwin defend on the ground?
After all, Carwin is a wrestler but what happens when somebody puts him on his back?

Almost as interesting as squash! ;)

Was hoping Hardy could pull it off but it wasn't to be. Haven't seen the fight yet but it went the full 5 rounds which is impressive against GSP. Seems take-down defense was a major issue. If he works on that more he should be a major force in the division.

Aldo vs Faber is on Saturday...

I'll go with Aldo but wouldn't be surprised if Faber took it either. Fight of the Year maybe...
